Arthur Rasco

(Director, Producer, Screenwriter, Director of Photography, Editor)

Arthur Rasco has a passion for historical and international subjects. Since 2001, Arthur Rasco has been a part of the promotional media team at World Gospel Mission as a videographer and editor, trotting the globe shooting in six continents. He also helps to supervise an intern program, leading video teams abroad for WGM. His work for WGM has inspired his love for Hungary, and her people and cultures. After conducting research and interviews for two years about 1956 Hungary, the time finally came for Arthur to put together a team to share the story of “No Greater Love.” Arthur is also developing a longer form work relating to the Revolution and Refugee Flight. Prior to his engagement at WGM, Arthur was employed in Southern California in post-production. His credits also include work on “Whose Line is it Anyways?,” The Emmys Awards broadcast, and the CBS MOW “Emma’s Wish.”

Hanna Rasco is thrilled to be co-producing her first project with her new husband, Arthur. Hungary has been special interests of Arthur’s for about two years and it has been a privilege to help a piece of his dreams come true. Most of Hanna’s background is in live theatre, directing various shows including, most recently, Rumors performed at Indiana Wesleyan University. She is excited about the opportunity to work in this new medium. “I am so thankful to Christ for allowing me this privilege to use my gifts and talents for His glory and for the wonderful opportunity to work as a husband/wife team. His grace is so amazing.”

Michael Scranton

For nearly a quarter century, Michael Scranton has been entertaining audiences at home and abroad. A veteran of stage, screen, and television, he has appeared in the Off-Broadway productions of Company and Cowboy Mouth, and most notably as a (photo/stunt) double for Val Kilmer, and as his father, Thomas Wayne, in Batman Forever. He has also toured extensively throughout Europe with both his one man show, and the theatrical rock band "Schwapp". Midwestern audiences will best remember him for staring roles in The Secret Garden, Gypsy, Godspell, and as a featured performer in the vaudeville production of "Grin 'N' Bear It", at Bear Creek Farms. As Jack, in No Greater Love, he has had the opportunity to display his widest emotional range to date; coming full circle in redefining his life's priorities. A Los Angeles based film actor and musician, he plays a variety of instruments, and speaks a number of foreign languages as well. He is currently on sabbatical, completing a screenplay he hopes to some day direct, and pursuing a variety of other projects in the Marion (Indiana) area.

He has completed extensive visual and graphics effects work for World Gospel Mission’s Media Department on a variety of projects over the last four years, while also producing several short films. In the future, John hopes to pursue visual effects work for film and television. John enjoyed working on the digital effects for “No Greater Love” as opposed to supervising the production work on the set and being out in the cold.

Tiffany Albertson

Tiffany is the newest member of the World Gospel Mission headquarters production staff, located in Marion, Indiana. As a member of media team, she helps create promotional videos for WGM missionaries to use for fundraising. She also coordinates the Graphic Design internship program. She is thankful for the opportunity to be able to use her abilities for the glory of God as she works alongside the missionaries to share the good news of the Gospel. Tiffany became involved in the “No Greater Love” project through her working relationship and friendship with the Rascos. Being 1st AD has been one of her most challenging assignments to date, but Tiffany could not pass up the opportunity to get such valuable hands on experience. “I get to work with some of my best friends, experience filmmaking first hand, and have my name in the credits. What more could a girl want?”

TODD SYSWERDA

(Composer)

Though born in western Michigan, I spent my formative years – junior high and high school – in Marion, Indiana. I attended Taylor University and studied Music Composition. After graduation in 1987, my new bride, Dara, and I headed off to Colorado so I could pursue graduate studies in music. We spent the next six years in this beautiful state, living in Ft. Collins while I studied at the University of Northern Colorado in Greeley. Upon a visit back to Indiana to attend my brother’s graduation from Taylor, I was approached about a potential one-year teaching position at Taylor. So, at the end of July, 1997, the trek back to central Indiana, and very familiar territory, began.

After a short stint of covering sabbaticals at Taylor and teaching in adjunct roles at Taylor and Indiana Wesleyan University, I was hired full-time by Indiana Wesleyan to oversee the Music Composition branch within the Division of Music. I recently finished my fifth year in this capacity and have thoroughly enjoyed his time at IWU.

In January of 2005, I met Arthur Rasco, who came to him with the phenomenal opportunity of composing the musical score for “No Greater Love.” As soon as we began talking over lunch at Rosie’s Little Italy, I knew that we were going to hit it off. Arthur seemed to understand my “music talk” and I seemed to speak musical sense within his cinematic vision. Though my process for scoring was a bit naïve, I believe that the common understanding that started our relationship bloomed into what you hear with this film. When I watch the film, I find myself forgetting about the music and allowing my focus of the story to deepen, which, if my understanding of film music is even close to correct, is the true mark of a great story and the music that complements it.

I am grateful to partner with the talented people of this community and Arthur serves as one of its most visionary. I look forward to working on future projects with him and dreaming of the next steps.
